Terms of Service

These terms govern the network cabling and infrastructure services provided by Static Cabling throughout Baytown, Houston, and Harris County.

Service Agreement

By engaging Static Cabling for network infrastructure services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all services provided, including but not limited to: ethernet cabling installation, fiber optic work, VoIP setup, security system wiring, and IT support services.

Scope of Work

  • All work will be performed according to the agreed-upon scope detailed in our written quote or proposal.
  • Any changes to the scope of work must be agreed upon in writing and may result in additional charges.
  • We reserve the right to subcontract portions of the work to qualified professionals when necessary.

Site Access

The client agrees to provide reasonable access to the work site during agreed-upon hours. This includes access to electrical systems, network closets, ceiling spaces, and any areas where cabling will be installed. Any delays caused by lack of site access may result in additional charges.

Industry Standards

All installations are performed according to current TIA/EIA standards and local building codes. We maintain proper insurance and licensing as required by Baytown, Houston, and Harris County regulations.

Warranty Information

Workmanship Warranty

1 Year

Covers all labor and installation defects from the date of project completion.

Materials Warranty

Varies by Product

Most cables and components carry manufacturer warranties of 15-25 years.

Warranty Coverage

  • Defective cable terminations or connections that fail under normal use
  • Cable performance below certified specifications
  • Installation issues causing intermittent connectivity
  • Labeling or documentation errors

Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by third parties, accidents, or acts of nature (lightning, flooding, etc.)
  • Modifications made to the installation by others
  • Normal wear and tear or environmental degradation
  • Issues caused by incompatible equipment connected to the network

Limitation of Liability

Static Cabling's liability for any claim arising from our services shall be limited to the total amount paid by the client for the specific services giving rise to such claim.

In no event shall Static Cabling be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Loss of data or interruption of business operations
  • Costs of procurement of substitute goods or services
  • Any damages arising from third-party claims

The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Static Cabling from any claims arising from the client's misuse of the installed infrastructure or failure to maintain the system according to our recommendations.

Payment Terms

Deposit Requirements

A 50% deposit is required to schedule work and secure materials. For large projects exceeding $5,000, we may request milestone payments throughout the project duration.

Final Payment

The remaining balance is due upon completion of work and client acceptance. Payment is expected within 7 days of project completion unless other arrangements have been made in writing.

Late Payment Policy

Invoices not paid within 30 days of the due date will incur a late fee of 1.5% per month (18% APR). We reserve the right to suspend warranty services for accounts with outstanding balances.

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Cash or company check
  • All major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)
  • ACH/Bank transfer
  • Net 30 terms available for established business accounts

Cancellation Policy

Client-Initiated Cancellation

  • More than 7 days before scheduled start: Full deposit refund minus any materials already ordered
  • 3-7 days before scheduled start: 50% of deposit refunded minus materials
  • Less than 3 days or no-show: Deposit is non-refundable

Rescheduling

We understand that business needs change. Rescheduling is available at no charge if requested at least 48 hours in advance, subject to availability.

Contractor-Initiated Changes

In the event we must cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances (weather, illness, emergency), we will provide as much notice as possible and work with you to find a suitable alternative date. Any deposits will remain applicable to the rescheduled work.

Intellectual Property

All network designs, documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications created by Static Cabling remain our intellectual property until full payment is received.

Upon full payment, the client receives a non-exclusive license to use the documentation for their internal purposes. The client may not redistribute, sell, or use our designs for projects outside the original scope without written permission.

Static Cabling retains the right to use non-confidential project information and photographs for marketing purposes, including portfolio display and case studies. Clients may opt out of this by providing written notice.
